Easily accessible sporting amenities include world-class surfing at the Berawa Beach surf break; and golfing at Nirwana Bali Golf Course, designed by Greg Norman and voted the number one golf course in Indonesia. For horse lovers, the Umalas Equestrian Centre is just a few kilometres away. Surf board and golf club rentals can be arranged.
Legenda was designed by the internationally acclaimed Balinese architect Popo Danes. He has been honoured with numerous awards for his efforts in enriching Balinese contemporary architecture and preserving the heritage of both Bali and Indonesia. He has projects located throughout the Indonesian archipelago; in Malaysia; Thailand; the United States; and India. He is known for his sensitivity to nature, the environment and the culture within which he is working.
There is a wide choice of areas for dining and entertaining. Balconies and verandas have been positioned to maximise the panoramic views and the cooling tropical breezes. Guests will be soothed by the rhythmic sounds of breaking ocean waves.
Living Room & Dining Room
Welcoming guests with its generous size and openness, the Living Room of his Bali villa offers a sweeping vista of the pool, gardens and adjacent rice fields. Cooled by ceiling fans and natural ventilation, and characterised by an Indian slate floor and a soaring vaulted ceiling, the room is exquisitely furnished with cream leather sofas, chairs and bar stools. The centrepiece is an impressive iron chandelier designed by the owners. There is a polished granite party bar with fridge and sink, and a round table with chairs for intimate dining.
A stairway leads down to the Dining Room, located on ground level next to the pool terrace. The room is furnished with a three meter long table which seats ten, a sideboard and a pair of 24-light standing candelabra. The ceiling features cove lighting and specialty lighting for the stunning art works which adorn the walls. Folding glass doors offer guests cool alfresco dining and the ambience is enhanced by water sounds emanating from adjacent ornamental ponds, water spouts and bubbling urns.
There is a Powder Room at the foot of the stairs.
Service Kitchen & Media Room
A timber bridge traverses a pond between the Dining Room and the immaculate Service Kitchen. It is fully equipped with everything that the chef needs to prepare delicious meals in accordance with the requests of each guest. A Wet Kitchen and a Laundry are both tucked away at the back, along with the staff entrance.
The air-conditioned Media Room at this Bali villa is equipped with a 32-inch LCD flat screen TV, VCD player and surround sound system. It is entered via folding doors leading from the Dining Room. This comfortable room is furnished with two deeply-cushioned sofas, traditional batik cushions, a games table with Plexiglas chairs, and an innovative glass topped coffee table created by hand from coffee-wood branches. Sliding windows on one side overlook an ornamental pond and a window on the other side looks out at the pool. Books and artifacts fill the bookcases.
